I love reading. Generally, I prefer reading fantasy, sci-fi, and other recreational books, but classical american literature and historical texts are also some of my favorite pieces of work.
Each year my desire to produce and create instead of simply consume grows. As i read, watch, or participate in various forms of media I want to add in some small way. Following this growing desire I began writing a short story three years ago. My attempt at a fantasy novel, Aetherra, now sits just over 20,000 words long, but i have realized it is no longer going to be a “short story” and is still far from completion. Every few months I successfully add another few thousand words to this project, and I have enjoyed the experience of learning how to write a semi-complex high fantasy novel, despite its many (many) flaws. I am happy with the attempt and really love the experience of discovery writing. One day, hopefully sooner than later, I will even have a finished product.
Aetherra 8.22.2018
The fae know of the mystical realm of the dead where the spirits of all creatures, except mankind, enter after death. The fae know that this world, Aetherra, is a strange world of shifting reality, inconsistent physics, and powerful feelings. What the fae do not know is that humans dream, and that the world of dreams and Aetherra are one and the same.
One man begins mastering his dreams with unforeseen effects on his life and their world.
This is a story about dragons, magic, emotions, betrayal, and consequences.
